A committed plan pays for a VPC for a set term, at a fixed price agreed up front. Convert a VPC you started on Hourly once you know you will keep it for that long; the committed plan applies from the moment you convert.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- An hourly VPC in the Active state.
- The term you want. The plans run from 30 days to 1,095 days, and each shows its price for the term and its effective hourly rate, so you can compare it with the hourly price. Prices are on the E2E pricing page.
- On a prepaid account, enough infra credits for the whole term, because its full cost is deducted when you convert. On a postpaid account, the full cost is charged instead.
Convert the VPC
Section titled “Convert the VPC”- Open Network > VPC, open the VPC’s actions menu, and choose Convert to Committed.
- In Committed VPC Conversion, choose a plan under Choose Committed Option.
- Read the agreement, which shows the charge for the term, and tick it.
- Click Convert.
E2E sends you an email once the VPC is converted. Auto-renewal is turned on for you, so the VPC starts a new term on the same plan when this one ends, unless you change it.
Check the conversion
Section titled “Check the conversion”Select the VPC. Its VPC Details tab now shows a Committed label, the Committed Plan, the Committed VPC Settings in place, and the Committed Upto date when the term ends. In the actions menu, Convert to Committed has become Committed VPC settings.
Choose what happens when the term ends
Section titled “Choose what happens when the term ends”You can change this at any time before the term ends:
- Open the VPC’s actions menu and choose Committed VPC settings.
- Choose one of:
- Auto-renew the committed period, and pick the committed plan to renew on. Keep this for a network you will go on using.
- Apply hourly billing as per the base rate of the plan. Choose this if you may delete the VPC after the term, and it bills by the minute from then on.
- Click Update Settings.
A message confirms the change, and Committed VPC Settings on the VPC Details tab shows your choice. If you later want to remove the VPC, even partway through a term, see Delete a VPC.
