Resize the disk of a vector database

View as Markdown

Make the disk of every node bigger from the Resize Disk tab. Each node starts with a 30 GB disk, and you can grow it up to 1,000 GB.

You need a database in the Running state and a role with Update permission on Vector Database.

A disk can only grow, so start with what you need. The size applies to every node, and each GB above 30 GB is charged per month per node; see Vector Database billing.

  1. In Manage Vector Database, select the database’s row, then open Resize Disk.
  2. Set the new Disk Size in GB, above the current size and at most 1,000 GB. For a size that is refused, see Troubleshooting Vector Database.
  3. Select Update. To go back to the current size, select Reset.

The new size can take a few minutes to take effect. Overview then gives the new Disk size per node under Cluster Configuration.

To add compute, scale up the database. If you cannot resize the disk, see Troubleshooting Vector Database.
