IndiaAI Documentation
Introduction
The IndiaAI Mission aims to build a comprehensive ecosystem that fosters AI innovation by democratizing computing access, enhancing data quality, developing indigenous AI capabilities, attracting top AI talent, enabling industry collaboration, providing startup risk capital, ensuring socially impactful AI projects, and promoting ethical AI. This mission drives the responsible and inclusive growth of India's AI ecosystem.
Services
Under an IndiaAI Project, two types of services are provided, Compute (GPU Instances) and Storage (Object Storage, Block Storage & File Storage). A user with an approved IndiaAI Project would be able to access these services on E2E Networks' TIR AI Platform. Subsidy may or may not be available for these services and is subject to the approval of IndiaAI Apart from these, users can avail specific TIR Platform Services at discounted rates, subject to the approval of IndiaAI.
Below is the list of TIR Products and Services where user can avail the IndiaAI-approved resources.
| Service Type | TIR Products & Services offered |
|---|---|
| Compute | Nodes, Inference, Private Cluster |
| Storage | Datasets, SFS |
| Platform Services | Nodes, Inference, Private Cluster, Training Cluster, Datasets, Pipelines, Fine-tuning, Vector Database, GenAI APIs, Data Syncer, Container Registry |
The user will receive an email from E2E Networks upon acceptance from IndiaAI, listing the details of the allocated services, including Compute Services, Storage, and Platform Services, along with the approved subsidy percentage and maximum subsidy amount.
Billing
Customers approved under the IndiaAI mission are eligible to receive a subsidy when using the designated IndiaAI SKUs for launching services. This subsidy is provided as a percentage discount on the Compute & Storage SKUs.
However, each user is assigned a predefined maximum subsidy limit. This limit represents the maximum amount of subsidy the user can receive under the IndiaAI Project. The billing structure is as follows:
- The subsidy percentage is applicable only on the Compute & Storage Services and is subject to the approval of IndiaAI.
- Once the maximum subsidy limit is reached, no further subsidy will be applied, even if the allocated SKUs are still being used.
- Once the IndiaAI project expires, the services launched on IndiaAI SKUs will continue to run but the pricing structure will change and those services will then be billed as per E2E Networks’s pricing. The subsidy will no longer be applicable.
- IndiaAI SKUs are excluded from any coupon-based discounts, meaning that no discount coupons can be applied to services launched on approved IndiaAI SKUs.
- The Platform Services discount takes precedence over any other applied coupons. This means that if both a coupon and Platform Service discount are applicable, the Platform Service discount will be applied.
Compute and Storage
- IndiaAI Compute and Storage Services are eligible for a subsidy, up to the approved subsidy amount.
- The billing of the storage add-ons is done per-calendar month and will be deducted in full based on the approved quantity, irrespective of usage. However, if the usage exceeds the allocated amount, the additional GBs for Disk and SFS will be charged at E2E peak-usage rates.
Disk and SFS resources follow a dynamic billing model based on whether you have an approved IndiaAI Project:
-
Billing Model for IndiaAI Storage-service:
- Peak Usage in GBs per calendar month
- Applicable to users with an active IndiaAI Storage-service in the billing month.
- Billing is based on the highest GB usage recorded in the calendar month.
- Upfront charges are applied for the storage quantity approved by IndiaAI, regardless of actual usage.
- E2E Peak Usage rates apply for any usage exceeding the approved threshold.
-
Default E2E Billing Model:
- Per GB per Hour
- Applicable to users who do not have any active IndiaAI Storage-service in the month.
- Charged on per GB basis at standard hourly rates
Platform Service
- Subject to the approval of IndiaAI, TIR Platform Services will be available at discounted rates. Discount Percentage will be as per the agreement between IndiaAI and E2E Networks.
- Platform Service Discounts are not applicable on IndiaAI SKUs.
- Platform Service Discounts are applicable as long as the IndiaAI Project is valid. Once the IndiaAI Project expires, Platform Service Discounts will not be applicable.
After the expiry of the IndiaAI project, the services using IndiaAI SKU will be transitioned to the corresponding TIR SKUs, and IndiaAI subsidy will no longer apply.
Multiple IndiaAI Projects Handling
If a user has multiple IndiaAI project approved for the same SKU (or service) during the same time period, the subsidy utilization is managed as follows:
- Precedence of IndiaAI Projects will be on first-come-first-serve basis
- The quantity allocated under the first project must be fully utilized before any quantity from any the subsequent project can be applied.
- Even if the maximum subsidy amount for the first project is reached, the remaining quantity from that project must still be consumed first.
-
A user receives two IndiaAI projects for the same SKU:
- First Project: 100 units with a 30% subsidy, up to a maximum subsidy amount of ₹3,000.
- Second Project: 200 units with a 40% subsidy, up to a maximum subsidy amount of ₹10,000.
-
If the user has utilized 80 units from the first project and has availed ₹2,800 as subsidy:
- The user must continue to use the remaining 20 units from the first project.
- Even if the user crosses the ₹3,000 max subsidy limit, they cannot start consuming from the second project until all 100 units of the first project are fully consumed.
- In such cases, any usage beyond the max subsidy amount will be charged at full price, with no subsidy applied, until the quota is exhausted.
-
Only after the entire quantity of the first project is fully utilized, will the second project become active — and the 40% subsidy of the second project will begin, subject to its own max subsidy cap.
