Create an AI Labs organization

View as Markdown

Create an organization to give a class or a team its own AI Labs workspace, with its own members, courses, and GPUs.

Make sure that you:

  • Are an Admin. Admins create and configure organizations.
  • Are signed in to TIR in Delhi, where AI Labs runs.
  • On a prepaid account, have enough infra credits for the plan. See Billing and Usage.

The plan sets how many GPU servers the organization gets and how it is billed.

  • Hourly suits a course with breaks or a trial. You are billed for the hours the organization runs, and you can stop it when nobody needs it. Choose it first if you are trying AI Labs out.
  • Committed suits a long course of fixed length, at a discounted price. A committed organization runs until its period ends.

You can convert an hourly organization to a committed plan later. See Convert an organization to a committed plan.

  1. In the AI LABS group of the TIR side menu, select AI Labs. The AI Labs portal opens.
  2. Select Create Organization.
  3. Enter an Organization Name. It can have up to 50 characters: letters, digits, spaces, underscores, and hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or a digit. Each organization needs a name of its own.
  4. Enter a Description of up to 2,000 characters.
  5. Choose the Plan Type and the plan.
  6. Select Create.

The organization opens on its home page, where you manage courses and members, watch resource use, and open the organization’s settings. It already has a group named Default, which gives learners every AI Labs service and the plans with 5 GB of GPU memory, one instance per plan.

  • Insufficient Credits! Please buy additional … credits to launch AI Labs means your balance is below what the plan needs to launch; see Why can I not launch a resource on a prepaid account?. Buy credits and try again.
  • Inventory temporarily unavailable. Please try again after some time. means every GPU server for the plan is in use. Try again later, or choose another plan.
  • Organization with the same name already exists in the Project. means the name is taken. Choose another.

Decide what each learner can launch with groups, invite your Professors and learners, then create a course for them to work in.
