Copyright Complaint
Introduction
Copyright complaint for the server. How to take steps to resolve the issue?
A copyright complaint typically arises when content on your server is deemed to be violating the copyright of any brand, content, or material. This can occur for the following reasons, among others:
- Any copyrighted content is available as a webpage on your site.
- A copyrighted material, like a song or movie, is being downloaded onto your server.
- Copyrighted software or packages are being downloaded onto your server.
How to troubleshoot and resolve it?
- Review the complaint to verify if it is legitimate and remove any offending material.
- Check the access logs on the webserver or SSH to see if any copyrighted material has been downloaded. Remove it and take further measures to prevent recurrence.
- Review any software being used on the server and ensure that its license is compliant with the vendor's terms.
