An API token lets your scripts and tools call the E2E Networks API on your account’s behalf. Each token has an API key and an auth token, and you choose whether it can only read or also change things.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”Have somewhere safe ready for the API key and the auth token, such as a password manager. MyAccount shows them only once, right after you create the token.
Create the token
Section titled “Create the token”- In MyAccount, open API in the sidebar. Manage API opens, listing your tokens with Token Name, Capabilities, and Created On.
- Click Create new Token. Add New Token opens.
- In Token Name, enter a name of letters, digits, underscore, or hyphen.
- Choose Capabilities. Read is always on. Tick Write as well if the token needs to change things, not only read them.
- Click Generate. MyAccount shows Your token is successfully generated.
Save the key and the auth token
Section titled “Save the key and the auth token”Add New Token now shows the API Key and the Auth Token, each with its own copy button. This is the only time MyAccount shows them.
Copy both and keep them somewhere safe, or click Download Tokens to save every current token’s key and auth token together as a file. Keep the key and the auth token as safe as a password: anyone who has them can use the API with this token’s capabilities.
A token keeps working until you delete it. Once it has been in use for a long time, E2E emails the account’s contacts a reminder about it.
Delete a token
Section titled “Delete a token”On Manage API, click Delete beside the token. MyAccount asks you to confirm, naming the token, then removes it at once. Any script or tool that used it stops working.
Changing the account’s owner email deletes every API token on the account; create new ones afterward. See Change the account owner.
To make your first call with the new token, see the MyAccount API.
