Get Started with Firewall

This page covers how to open the Firewall section in MyAccount and create your first FortiGate Firewall.

  1. Log in to your E2E Networks MyAccount using your credentials.
  2. In the left sidebar, click on Network to expand the section.
  3. Click on Firewall under the Network section.
  4. You will be redirected to the Firewall page.

Create a Firewall

  1. On the Firewall page, click Add New Firewall.
  2. Review the available plans. Each row lists its vCPU, IOPS, RAM, and price. Firewalls can be billed hourly — a per-hour rate, with its monthly equivalent shown alongside for reference — or, for plans that support it, as a committed plan: a fixed amount charged upfront for a fixed duration (for example, 30 days), usually at a lower effective rate than paying hourly for the same configuration over that period.
  3. Click a plan to expand it and see its full details.
  4. If that plan supports committed billing, the expanded row shows a Choose Billing Type dropdown — pick Hourly Billed or one of the listed committed durations. Plans that don't support committed billing skip this step; they're hourly only.
  5. Click the plan's action button again (it now reads Create) to proceed to the creation form.
  6. Fill in the firewall details in the Create Firewall Appliance form (name, project, VPC/network, and any other required fields).
  7. Click Create My Firewall.
    • If you chose committed billing, a dialog first asks you to review and confirm the committed price, period, and end date. Confirm to continue.
    • If you chose hourly billing, the firewall is submitted for creation immediately — there is no extra confirmation step.
  8. On success, you'll see a "Firewall Creation is in progress" message and be redirected to the firewall list, where your new firewall appears with its status.

Depending on your account state, MyAccount may show one of the following instead of creating the firewall right away — each is self-explanatory and tells you what to do next:

  • Insufficient infra credits — you (or your MyAccount administrator, if you're a technical lead contact) need to add credits before creating the firewall.
  • License not available — the FortiGate license couldn't be provisioned at that moment; try again shortly or contact support.
  • Account not verified — postpaid accounts must complete verification before creating a firewall.
  • No capacity available — the selected plan has no available inventory right now; try a different plan or try again later.
Minimum billing

If your plan has a minimum billing amount, the create screen shows a note that this amount applies immediately on creation, and again on the first day of every calendar month. For prepaid accounts, this amount is deducted from your infra credit balance instead of billed directly. This is separate from your regular hourly/monthly usage charges.
